In ranked Daring, Groz, 52 can play more on their own and rack up big numbers. Gearing and Shima are at the core team ships not lone wolves. Long range torps, good concealment, very good dpm. Gearing might be my favorite ship although the 52 and I do get along. When a Shima torp catches you you know you got hit. Shima certainly requires use of stealth, speed, and smoke but I still have monster games in her in the age of cvs and radar. I guess I’m the minority but Shima, Gearing are still flat out the best dd or most versatile. So yeah, Japanese torp should get some sort of buff. Would Shima (and Z52) would need some sort of buff? I think that the Halland finished the job to power crept her, and the addition of CV in clan battle make Shima one of the poorest choice for DD this season. So sure, shima got smoke, which hold some value but not much in this heavy radar meta. Manoeuvrability? Shima goes 4 knot fasters and got a quicker rudder shift, so advantage Shima there.Ĭoncealment?. So despite the gap in damage, Halland is arguably a more reliable torpedo boat.ĪA? Clear win for Halland Not that she is bad, but let’s say that she will not win any gun fight, gearing ca have the same concealment and overall be an equal torp boat. Shimakaze is one of the oldest DD of the game and is also one that faced the most power crept.
